(Review)
I have heard about the book “Paganini’s Defamation” a few times before I read it. However, after reading it, I fell in love with it.
It is known that Niccolo Paganini was an Italian violinist and composer. “He was the most celebrated violin virtuoso of his time, and left his mark as one of the pillars of modern violin technique.”
The book’s author portrays Paganini as an ugly man on the outside but with inner beauty. A man whose “simplicity belongs only to the greatest men”, and Paganini was indeed a great man, whose entire life was dedicated to music, the violin, and hard work to attain perfection.
Paganini’s bow and violin can only be compared to a magician’s wand, which, with a single movement, subjugates the whole world.

As an exceptional musician, Paganini knew his worth and was appreciated by other great people.
- They talk about you as a priest of the goddess Isis – replied Berlioz.

- Yes, from where! – answered Paganini. The deity I worship is called: the violin.
Being an open-minded and hard-working person, he has become “the biggest sinner” for the church that hunted him for his entire life for money.
In 1853, in the “Steccata” church, prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the sins of the greatest sinner. One million and one hundred thousand francs flowed in a stream of gold through the channels of the consistory of the Roman apostolic curia.

Endowed with an unbeatable will, Paganini had managed to overcome “immeasurable and superhuman difficulties” created by his so-called friends and the church. That mockery of the church continued after his death. Therefore, Achillo, Paganini’s son, needed 56 years to bury his father in his homeland.
In 1896, the owner of Villa Gayona entered his estate for the first time, in his zinc box…

Fifty-six years had passed since his father’s death, and the indomitable perseverance of the Marquis Achillo Paganini had reached its goal. His father had finally been buried and could merge with the dust of his homeland.
“Paganini’s Defamation” is a book about the beauty and the power of passion that drives a great man to achieve his mission, and it follows the violinist’s life in the context of the historical events of his time.
It is a great book about a great man and violinist, Niccolo Paganini.
