Word of Love

by Daniela Topîrcean

I was looking for you among the poems,
on white sheets of paper, among metaphors
with the scent of the light and clay.
I was lost in a complicated puzzle
which you gave me.
I was doing like Survivor
in a script written by you in the past.
You were smiling. I was looking scared for you
and I loved you very much, clean,
transcendental, secret
(although your luminosity often causes me insolent,
you were tempting me. it seems, in a hurry,
in the shadow of the evening metaphor)
the second of love had hardened its
master bird flight and I was thinking
with a humble soul on what path
of the metaphor, I run,
when I saw you passing
like a blue ghost. It seemed to me
that I have found you, but it seemed,
that you moved – a word of love fallen from Light!

  1. It is a very intimate and symbolic poem, where love is sought through metaphors, memories, and words that almost slip away.

One feels that mixture of fascination and fear, as if the beloved were both light and mystery. The ending, with that image of the “blue ghost” and the word of love falling from the light, leaves a beautiful and ethereal feeling, like a love that is touched but never fully grasped.
