În inima unei bătăi de inimă e numai un gând
torcând pe vers de departe, plângând sau râzând,
printre frunze de toamnă și petale de vară,
pași măturând

În inima unei bătăi de inimă e doar căldură și joc,
viu, strălucire, zâmbet, secunde de foc,
de mână cu timpul, cu cerul, cu soarele
surâs de noroc

Și-n inima unei bătăi de inimă e mult anotimp,
spirală de șoapte urcând, văzduh străbătând,
tu, plimbare zâmbind, iar eu,
trepte de stele durând

În inima bătăii de inimă ascultând am aflat,
cum galben și verde, și roșu, și-albastru curat
prin muguri de primăvară, și zare
ne-au îmbrățișat

Căci în inima bătăii de inimă e lumină de lună,
dimineață de raze, dup-amiază și liniște, soare ce stă să apună
în seară de noi cu puls
de împreună

In the heart of a heartbeat there is only much hoping
murmuring on faraway rhyme, sobbing or floating,
through autumn leaves or summer petals
warm steps approaching

In the heart of a heartbeat there is sweetness and game,
life, smiling, brightness, seconds of flame,
playing with time, the sky and the sun
the sea, all the same

And in the heart of a heartbeat there is reason and meaning
spiral of whispers soaring in colorful dreaming
you, peacefully walking, and I
starry steps gently weaving

Also, in the heart of a heartbeat I found, so true
how yellow, green, bright red, and pure deep blue
can turn spring buds, horizons
into me and you

For in the heart of a heartbeat there is the light of the moon
golden mornings, silk afternoons and quietness, the sun setting soon
in evenings of us, our pulse
beating in tune

  1. A delicate and deeply sensitive poem. I love how it transforms a simple heartbeat into a universe of colors, emotions, and shared love. It conveys hope, harmony, and that profound connection where two hearts beat in unison.

    1. Thank you very much, that is a lovely description of my verses! Also, I am happy Manuela shared it on February 24th, when we celebrate Dragobete, a Romanian traditional holiday, often called “the Romanian Valentine’s Day” 🙂
