Review by Manuela Timofte
Palm leaves are most commonly used for decorative purposes, to dress a table, or as a base layer on serving platters. Likewise, the poems in this volume present human experiences from fear to love, from pain to joy.
At the same time, if palm leaves should be trimmed to the desired size and used as a garnish alongside tropical food and drinks, Tea’s poems are written in different shapes and sizes, yet they are served alongside human experiences and watered from the ancient wisdom filtered by the author through her life lessons.
Reading her poems, you can discover experiences familiar to everyone, but also a new, pure, and sincere world in which the poems flow without depending on emotion, form, or size.
Her special poems invite us to bathe our eyes and souls in the rainbow of colours offered by the sensitivity of her soul, colours in which any being can find himself living the emotions that overwhelm as written in “untainted”:
going back to
our purest selves
is the way forward
to stop the world
from breaking

All that has been experienced is synthesized in the celebration of everyday life, regardless of the type of experiences, accepting that the old and the new, the past and the present, all define the line of life, the meaning of being, of the chosen destiny like in “cantata”: i celebrate the / ancient and modern in me/ …[] // i celebrate my / past, present and future selves /…[] // i celebrate all / doors shut, prayers unanswered /…[] // i celebrate you / my lifeline.
If you immerse yourself in reading the poems written in “palwa», you will feel the comfort offered by the palm of a loved one who is by your side with a soul full of purity and spiritual value, while the divine vibrates all that is natural, simple and beautiful in your being.
Reading Tea’s poetry, you discover a woman who is not afraid to translate her own experiences through her lens and her mind. One wants to read more and learn more about her experiences, which easily leads one to understand ancestral wisdom coming from learning life lessons.
