Right or wrong answers?

You are not right! You are wrong! It is not right. It is wrong. All those words can end stories, degenerating into arguments and acts of violence. Yet, are there right or wrong answers when it comes to opinions?

Your opinion should be an opinion and not an attempt to change someone’s opinion.

Having your own opinion does not mean that you are against me or my way of thinking. But it is about you, your way of thinking, and your right to express your opinion. It is about standing up for your truth.

In my opinion, there are no right or wrong answers when it comes to views. We can agree or disagree partially or entirely with them because we can see some of them are more reasonable than others. Yet, opinions depend on those who listen to them, on their knowledge and experiences.

In our journey called our life, we are taught to hold and promote one opinion or another. An opinion with which you may disagree, but keep quiet because you are afraid to express your opinion. Maybe you consider yourself too small, or too insignificant to have an opinion. Maybe you are afraid of losing people around you. Yet, an opinion,

It’s not about going around trying to stir up trouble. As long as you’re honest and you articulate what you believe to be true, somebody somewhere will become your enemy whether you like it or not.

Yes, some will be offended that you disagree with them and will try to prove they are right and you are wrong. Yes, it is true that by supporting your opinion you make enemies, and many of those you thought were with you will leave you because you disagree with them. But that does not mean you should change your opinion only to get people on your side.

Don’t change your mind just because people are offended; change your mind if you’re wrong.

In an egoistic society, it is not easy to accept that someone else may have seen both sides of an issue. It is not easy to admit that you were wrong and change your way of looking at the problem. It is your right to have your opinion.

Based on knowledge and experiences, our opinions belong to us. We are unique, and so are our experiences. Yet, do we have right or wrong answers regarding opinions?

You can disagree with another person’s opinions. You can disagree with their doctrines. You can’t disagree with their experience.

  1. Great article. which invites us to reflect on human relationships. Often, or almost always, we separate opinion from experience. If, on the other hand, we tried to know the experiences of the other, we could easily accept his opinions. Thank you, Manuela 🌹
