You’re 6 years old,
Pure at heart,
In a world that’s not always safe.
By the time you’re 21 years old,
You should know that
People are not always what they seem to be.
Sometimes they are cruel, deceiving,
They’ll leave you alone when you most need them.
You’ll have your heart broken,
That’s inevitable,
Allow yourself time to heal.
Always be kind.
You never know through how much pain
Someone has been.
Love yourself.
People come and go,
At the end of the day,
You can only count on yourself.
Take care of your mind, body, and soul.
Happiness is a place in your heart,
Don’t seek it elsewhere.
Trust your intuition.
The heart can be fooled,
The mind can be easily tricked,
But your intuition never lies.
If something doesn’t feel right,
It probably isn’t.
Not everything you want
Is meant for you.
Learn to let it go.
If the one you love
Doesn’t love you,
Free your heart and walk away.
Most of the time,
Rejection means protection.
Believe in yourself,
And avoid all the people who don’t respect your boundaries,
Show no kindness,
Or are too self-centered.
Embrace your uniqueness.
Put some magic from your soul
In everything you do.
Stay creative.
Don’t be afraid to love deeply.
Cherish every moment with your loved ones,
The sunset,
The sunrise,
The quiet of the early morning hours,
The smell of a new book,
The hugs, the smiles,
And the wildest stars.

A very beautiful poem full of life lessons. I especially liked the encouragement to trust our intuition, take care of ourselves, and learn to let go of what isn’t good for us. It also reminds us of something important: to remain kind and compassionate, despite disappointments. A beautiful message to cherish and remember.
