Appreciation lies within YOU
At my last job, I could see people begging and even crying for their “right” of receiving money. I would say there were people coming from different fields. But they seem to be seen in a different way. At a first glance, everybody seemed to have the same treatment. At a second glance, you could see how people coming from high positions (eg director, clerk in the county board) or relatives of them, were served without waiting in the queue. Higher positions have different treatment, for they seem to have more and different “rights”. On the other side, people with no position, had to wait for hours in the queue.
On one side, in our society it is instilled a way of appreciation, as my boss told me “be careful at the name/position people have”. It is a way of the job position, a label, a “chair” and money associated to. You also can see that the higher position you have, the bigger office, chair, desk you have and much money you are paid. It means people with more rights, are superior, worthier than the rest. It is a reason our society value things as positions and money instead of people’s value. People in low positions are afraid of those “superior” people and they flatter them for they could treat people badly, could be furious, even speak dirty, for high position means also power/ authority. Those superior people are “milk and honey” with people in higher position than they are. Why? For they have the same pains as the others have. They are afraid of loosing their jobs, their rights, and they seem to have different rights form the rest of people. All high positions are built on people’s needs and the more needs society invented, the more high position are invented.
On the other side, people are taught to live with worries and needs, in negative energy. Moreover, they are fed by media, with the same energy for the more negative you are, the more you attract negative things in your life. Most people are used of living in needs for they do not know another way of living and are afraid of losing the job, losing money, changing a job, doing something new. Energetically, it is the reason people are disrespected for fear only attracts fear.
In a little town, not far from where I live, a new plant has been open. Women are the most of the workers. The owner calls them “cows”. Yes, you read correctly. It does it because he has money, for he is “owner” and the rest of them needs to work for him. My question would be, “if you work with cows, how will you be called, mr.” :)?
In a high position or without job, we all should appreciate what we do, what we have, what we are. Change, what you do not like to do. Change what you do not like to have. Nobody else is going to do for you what you are not willing to do for yourself. Doing what you like, you appreciate yourself, you are not bound by anybody else’s appreciation. It does not mean you are selfish, but you respect yourself. When respecting yourself, you can appreciate others, as human beings not their belongings. And, appreciation comes from your soul not from fears or selfishness.
“The difference between appreciation and flattery? That is simple. One is sincere and the other insincere. One comes from the heart out; the other from the teeth out. One is unselfish; the other selfish. One is universally admired; the other universally condemned.” – Dale Carnegie
Look at children how much they appreciate themselves, they appreciate what they and others do around them. They do not have “positions” and they know to say “thank you” and “sorry” no matter who is with them. They do not know to be fake, for position and money have not changed their world perception. They are happy and you feel full of life with them for they live positive feelings.
A couple of years ago, leaving a friend’s house, his son asked me why I do not take with me a flower he gave it to me. I showed him a picture of it, telling that going on a long distance by train, it will fade quicker but he could good take care of it in my absence. His younger sister, looked at the picture and run in her room, coming back with a little plastic flower she had as a toy – “you can take this one for it is not going to fade” … (I still have it:)).
Appreciation is not born out of what you have externally, is not born out of your life’s achievements. Free yourself from your fears and you will see that you and everyone else deserve to be appreciated for every human being is worthy. The more we free ourselves, the more we can widen our appreciation on all that is creation. Appreciation lies within YOU!
“Our task must be to free ourselves… by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and it’s beauty.” – Albert Einstein
