One day at the market a lady who was selling apples had two piles of them. In the beginning, it seems strange to see how the same apples, coming from the same apple tree are categorised into two piles: small and big apples. Then thinking, it is normal for it is what we do with ourselves. We are categorised as poor and rich, small and high in jobs and money. Actually, it is the way we have been separated in you, me and the rest of the world.
Living in a world where everything is led by ego, we have also been separated by the colour of the skin, sex, religion. However,
Strength lies in differences, not in similarities”
Stephen R. Covey

Differences
Look around you. We call some flowers crocus or tulips, roses or lilies. Even if they do not have the same colour, size, shape, they do grow in the same way and in the same garden – Earth. They are different and we love them as they are. What about us?
Why do you have to make war for someone else’s religion? Why should we make people feeling bad for they are not like me, like you?
WE need to accept ourselves as we all are – Human Beings not robots. Nobody should believe what I believe for I do not believe what you believe. We all have different experiences and different perceptions so we cannot think in the same way. It does not mean we cannot respect each other.
Similarities
I have worked with people coming from different parts of the world: from the USA, Asia, Australia, Europe, Nigeria, China, Philippines and Japan. They all laugh and love life as you & I do.
I have worked with lesbian and gay, with Christian, Catholic & Muslim people. They all laugh and love life as You & I do.
I learned things from each of them. I have seen pleasure for life in Italians, honesty of Germans, politeness of English people, pleasure for music & dance of Nigerian people; respect of Muslim people, gays’ love, Indian people’s love for colours. I have learned holistic methods from Thailand’s people, respect for Chineses, the beauty of the Japanese. It is said that Nordic people are cold but they are as warm as you and I do. Each of us is a flower of different sizes, shapes and colours in the garden of the Earth. Each of us is a drop of Humanity Ocean.
Us
We respected and helped each other in varied ways no matter that I needed or they needed help. So, why using differences for hate & war? I only can say – WE ARE ALL THE SAME. We all live, Love, have wishes and desires.
Recognize yourself in he and she who are not like you and me.
Carlos Fuentes
We all are different and this can be seen in the colour of the skin, sex, religion, but that is the beauty of our diversity. All our differences create the beauty of our world.
I cannot be like you, you cannot be like me. Yet, WE ARE ALL THE SAME. There is not about you, me and others. All is about Us.
Love,
Manuela

Very beautiful sharing. There’s so much power in diversity. It’s a unifying force. May hearts and minds open to co-existence. It’s for the betterment of the world. 🙂
