Straja Resort
Straja Resort is a mountain resort located in Hunedoara County, Romania, at an altitude of 1,445 meters.
It features a selection of 12 ski slopes catering to winter sports enthusiasts of different skill levels. Beginners can enjoy the Baloo ski slope, a short 100-meter track designed specifically for introductory courses held by the Ski and Snowboard School. For more experienced skiers, the Straja slope is the longest in the resort, stretching an impressive 8.1 kilometres and allowing skiers to reach altitudes of 1,870 meters.
Thanks to its position on the northern slopes of the Retezat-Godeanu Mountains, the Straja Slope enjoys a snowy season lasting approximately six months each year, from November to April.
All ski slopes are accessible via cable transport, which includes a gondola, six ski lifts, and four chair lifts. Additionally, six of these slopes are equipped with night skiing facilities.
While Straja is a popular destination for winter sports, it also attracts visitors in the summer for hiking and relaxation.
The resort is supported by a detachment of the Mountain Gendarmerie and a public mountain rescue service, ensuring safety and order while assisting in emergencies.
