How big is your dream?

We have desires and goals. We have dreams and fears. The latter are those which whisper to us that we can’t, that we don’t have enough power to achieve them, that we are not good enough in countless ways. They tell us that our dreams are too big or unachievable. However, who could dream or fulfill our dream if not ourselves? Who has the right to tell us that our dreams are too big? What is the standard to know the size of a dream?

If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.

Albert Einstein

Why do we block?

In my opinion, first we are blocked by fear, and as Neale Donald Walsch says, it paralyzes us. So, we let it lead us and believe that we are not capable of many things, that we are not good enough or that we do not have what it takes to achieve that dream. However, as I have said on other occasions, we have so many examples in the history of humanity about people who believed in themselves and succeeded in what they wanted.

But here, the mind interferes telling us that those people had something we don’t have. That is the reason they succeeded. However, we didn’t live those times, and do not know what they had or missed. So, the mind finds solutions to block us if we let fear rule it.

Secondly, we block ourselves from achieving our dreams because we believe too much in others, and their words. Many try to convince you cannot achieve your dream, because no one believes in it or you do not have the necessary resources. Those who are against your dream don’t have the strength/courage to follow their own dreams or have such a big ego that they think no one can do what they did. In their opinion, you could not chase your dream. Therefore, it is better for you to stop dreaming.

Thus, we are blocked by our fears, and also, by the influence of those around us. We inhibit ourselves by the opinion of those dear to us. Of those who are around us and whose opinion we raise to a high level. Yet, do they have your dream? Do they have the same vision of the dream that you have? Do they have the same experience as you do? I do not think so because we are unique and our dreams are unique.

What is the key?

the key to inner peace is to rise from dependence, to preference.

Ken Keyes Jr

We are energy in motion. If the energy we set in motion is positive, it is natural that it returns to us also in a positive form. If it is negative, or supported only by our fears, it is natural for it to return to us in a negative form. That’s because emotion is the expression of a thought. Acting to make it real, that reality will be the outer expression of our inner idea. We create what we prefer through our beliefs and convictions.

We influence our creative energy through our intentions at all times. We do this either consciously or unconsciously – but we do it all the time.

Neale Donald Walsch

Others could see our dream either small or big. However, our dream has its own dimension in our soul, and in my opinion, it knows no measure. No one and nothing can stand in our way as long as the dream is the one that comes from our soul and not from selfish thoughts and pride. What comes from the heart gives us strength. Instead, what comes from fear or hate, selfishness and pride “paralyzes” us. Therefore, our dream belongs to us for it is born from the pure desire of the soul. It has no terms of measure. It just exists and wants to be created. It wants to become a reality.

By believing in it and taking action, we feel the power that comes from within and fuels its achievement. In addition, on our way we will find places, meet people, create events that will bring us closer to its achievement.

Big or small, you only have this life to create it, so believe in your dream and take action, for it is said the sky is the limit. A dream becoming alive is a miracle born within. Only you can fulfill it.

If you have a dream, don’t just sit there. Gather courage to believe that you can succeed and leave no stone unturned to make it a reality.

  1. Beautiful post. I think every writer needs to hear this from time to time. I think most of us have self doubt which comes from ourselves often. I really appreciate this post and your kindness in sharing your worlds. Thank you and lots of love, Joni
